Remembrance Sunday – Reduced Service
8 November @ 10:50 am - 11:30 am
Letter from Rev’d Alison Love:
Due to virus restrictions things will be very different this year I am afraid.
There will be just a small group, limited to those laying wreaths, gathering at the war memorial in the church yard at 10.50am.
I will lead a short act of Remembrance with the silence at 11am.
We cannot accommodate the usual large congregation this year because of the restrictions, and so in order to be fair to everyone we are limiting things to just this small number while encouraging everyone else to stand on their driveways at 11am to hold the silence across the village.
The church will be open during the afternoon so that villagers may come to pray if they wish, being mindful of social distancing and hygiene rules in the church building.
We have also purchased some small crosses for people to place by the war memorial during the afternoon and these will be available in church on the day.
I have also been in touch with the school and will meet a small group of children and staff on 11th November at 11am when they will place pebbles at the war memorial as they have done in the past and I will lead a short service with them.
With very best wishes
Rev’d Alison Love
